Curricular Goal

Confident and Effective Communicators

In Punggol View Primary, teachers effectively use STELLAR (Strategies for English Language Learning And Reading) to strengthen our children’s language and reading skills as well as promote a positive attitude towards reading. Our children are also taught the critical life skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing so that they will become confident and effective communicators in the English Language.

STELLAR – Lower Primary Strategies

Shared Writing Experiences –

After reading “The Giant’s Ice-Cream” students attended an ice-cream party and then they wrote a class story about their experience at the party.
"My chocolate ice-cream with my 2 favourite toppings... yummy!Excited children waiting in line to get their ice-creams before proceeding to the topping station.

"Would you like some rainbow sprinkles with your ice-cream?"

Speaking – Show & Tell

Students prepared a short presentation for their classmates on a favourite character of their choice from the big books they had read in the class.
